Jim Brockman ’99

Director of Admissions

brockmanj@cbchs.org

Hi, my name is Jim Brockman, Director of Admissions at CBC high school and a graduate of the Class of 1999.  I work closely with prospective students and their families throughout the admissions process to ensure a smooth and enjoyable transition from your grade school into the CBC community.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE CBC: As a graduate, I was thoroughly prepared for all aspects of college and my life after college.  CBC offers the “total experience,” preparing our men for their tomorrow.  Academically, we will challenge you at your level.  CBC customizes its academic program to meet the needs of each individual student.  Socially, CBC offers a real world experience.   We draw students from across the St. Louis metropolitan area.  Our students come from more than 100 different parishes and public schools.  Athletically, CBC has a rich tradition of excellence, winning State Championships in multiple sports over our 158 years in St. Louis.  CBC offers two freshman teams in Football, Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball, thus doubling the number of students who have the opportunity to participate in interscholastic athletic competition.  We also offer the following “no cut” sports: Cross Country, Wrestling, Track and Field, and Lacrosse.  Extracurricular Activities are a highlight of the experience at CBC.  Our theater program is on par with most college programs, while our band program performs about 12 concerts per year, and has over 200 students who participate.  Regardless of your talents or interests, CBC has something for you.

Jane Eschmann
Assistant Principal
eschmannj@cbchs.org

Hello, my name is Jane Eschmann.  In my role as an Assistant Principal I oversee all aspects of the admissions process and am directly responsible for all admissions decisions.  Whether you are a prospective freshman or a transfer student, I want to work with you and your family to ensure that you have an outstanding academic experience at CBC.  Our goal at CBC is to meet each individual student where he is and to challenge him to reach his highest potential.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE CBC:  When my son came to CBC as a freshman in 2001, he only knew 4 other students who came from the same Catholic elementary school as he did.  Like most freshmen, he worried about making friends and fitting in.  His experience at CBC opened a whole new world for him.  He met young men from all over the St. Louis area, many from very different backgrounds than he.  One of the guys he met early in freshman year at CBC ended up being his roommate at MIZZOU and I have no doubt that they are Brothers for Life.  In addition to great friendships, CBC students also develop strong ties with their teachers who have encouraged, challenged and mentored them for four years.  I love it when our students come back long after they have graduated to see those special teachers who have meant so much to them.  The CBC experience develops relationships that really do last a lifetime.

Rob Staggenborg, APR ’85

Director of Communications

staggenborgr@cbchs.org

Hi! My name is Rob Staggenborg, Director of Communications at CBC and a 1985 graduate. In my position, I work closely with the Admissions Office to make sure prospective students like you receive all the information you need to make an informed decision about where you want to go to high school.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE CBC: I think the one thing that CBC offers that other schools do not is the personal attention. Every teacher goes out of his way to get to know each student by first name. Our teachers and staff know about each student’s interests, hobbies and goals during his four years with us. I am very impressed with that. Not ONE student gets lost in the crowd here at CBC. We really go out of our way to recognize that each of our students brings with him unique gifts and talents.

Jeannie Kihn

Admissions Assistant

kihnj@cbchs.org

Hello, my name is Jeannie Kihn and as part of the Admissions Team, my job is to help prospective students navigate the admissions process and answer any questions you may have.  If you would like to take a tour, schedule a day in our Junior Cadet Shadowing Program, or simply having your questions answered, I can help.  It would be my pleasure to assist you along the way.  Please feel free to call me or send me an e-mail.  I look forward to working with you!

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE CBC: In addition to working at CBC, I am also the mother of two boys who are currently students at CBC.   When my oldest son started the process two years ago we chose CBC because we believe in the importance of developing the whole person.  The students are not only receiving a GREAT education, but are exposed to numerous co-curricular activities.    Most importantly, however, they are being taught the value of becoming men of good character.   The environment at CBC is one of respect and appreciation for each student’s individual talents and abilities.
