This summer, CBC will once again be hosting a week-long special needs camp in partnership with Team Activities for Special Kids (TASK). In order for this camp to be successful we are in need of high school volunteers who will be partnered up with a camper, helping them to participate in the many activities that we have planned. Each year we have about 80 campers and 90 volunteers and we are hoping that this year will be no exception. This is a great opportunity for students to not only be a part of a fun week and unique experience but to also earn service hours, especially for those students who have difficulty completing service during the school year due to involvement in extra-curricular activities. For incoming freshman and rising sophomores and seniors, volunteering for the full week you will earn all required service hours for the 2019-2020 school year.
Camp this year will be the week of July 8-12 and will run 8:30 am - 2:30 pm (8:00 am start time on Monday, July 8 for brief orientation). We do ask the students to commit to working all five days of the camp. If you have volunteered for TASK before and have registered as a volunteer, you need only go to the website below, login and register for the CBC camp. Make sure that you sign up for all 5 days of the week. If you are a first time TASK volunteer then you will need to begin by going to the website below, selecting the "register now" option and fill out the volunteer application. You will be sent an email thanking you for your application. Within a couple days of this registration, you will be sent an additional email notification that your application has been approved. It is at this point you will need to return to the website and sign up to work the CBC camp. Make sure that you sign up to volunteer all 5 days. Click here to access the TASK volunteer website.
