Christian Brothers College High School (CBC) is a renowned Catholic, Lasallian high school serving young
men in grades 9-12 in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded by the Brothers of the Christian Schools in 1850, CBC is

Justice, and Prepared to Lead and Serve. The school's Catholic and Lasallian values permeate the work
culture, fostering an environment centered around faith, community, and service. We are currently in
search of a dedicated and experienced leader to serve as Vice President / Chief Operating Officer (VP/COO)
and contribute to shaping the future trajectory of the school.

About the Position:

The VP/COO plays a pivotal role in upholding and enhancing the operational efficiency and strategic
direction of CBC High School. Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the school’s
executive leadership team, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills to lead and develop
operational strategy, including accountability for the financial health and stability of the organization and
contributing to the development of the organization’s strategic goals.

The VP/COO will collaborate seamlessly across key leadership areas working towards the realization of the
school's mission and vision. This position actively supports day-to-day administrative and operational
functions, ensuring a smooth alignment with Mission and Ministry, Finance, Academic, Admissions,
Advancement, and co-curricular objectives. The VP/COO will work collaboratively with executive leadership
team members to assess the efficient utilization of resources , provide financial planning support, and
ensure operational infrastructure and systems are in place.

parents, alumni, and the broader community and participate in community events and outreach to build
relationships that contribute to the school’s overall advancement. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of
cross-departmental collaboration, individual initiative and resourcefulness, accountability, and responsibility
across the organization while promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that
values learning and a commitment to the mission of CBC.

Key Responsibilities of the Vice President / Chief Operating Officer:

Operations
• Oversees Director of Facilities to manage physical facilities and assets, including maintaining a safe
and welcoming environment within campus buildings as well as outside campus grounds. Oversees
the Director of Facilities and supports all maintenance, custodial, and grounds personnel.
• Oversees general construction projects, including transformative projects identified through the
Facility Master Planning process.
• Develops and maintains a long-term strategy for capital improvements in physical facilities aligned
with the fiscal capacity of the organization.
• Oversee vendor relations and contract negotiations including Financial, Insurance, Operational and
other key partners.
• Oversees Director of Informational Technology to maintain systems and improve information
technology infrastructure, including the development of hardware and software upgrade schedules.
• Serve as point of contact for all legal affairs, ensuring that the school operates in compliance with
applicable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices. Provides risk assessments and estimates as
needed, advising the President and executive leadership team on how to minimize the impacts of
identified risks.
• Works with Admissions to support their priorities, determine appropriate resource allocation and
optimal enrollment targets.
• Works with Academics to identify and allocate resources needed to implement the academic vision.
Oversees resource allocation. Review budget verses actual performance for each department;
Admissions, Academics, Advancement, Finance, and Ministry and Mission.
• Oversees Human Resources, including supporting employee onboarding, payroll processing, and
annual insurance enrollment.
• Works with the President and collaborates with senior leadership team to monitor organizational
culture and identify opportunities for improvement. Cultivates an engaging and inclusive
environment that attracts and retains a diverse pool of qualified talent.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Finance
• Develops and oversees the organization’s fiscal management strategy oversight to the organization’s
operations.
• Develops and executes an annual budgeting process that ensures the alignment of resources to the
mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the organization, including creating and managing a multiyear budget forecast.
• Perform tuition modeling. Analize tuition costs, scholarship, tuition assistance to optimize
enrollment and revenue.
• Works with members of the business office to maintain and/or implement an appropriate system of
policies/procedures, internal controls, and accounting standards.
• Ensures compliance and high-quality implementation of accounting services such as grant payments
processing, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.
• Advise and Assess the executive leadership team, on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and
policy matters.
• Works with accounting staff to gather and monitor financial data, creating reports on revenue and
budget for the executive leadership team and Board of Directors.
• Effectively communicates and presents critical financial and operational matters at select Board of
Directors and committee meetings.
• Represents the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and lease negotiations.
• Supports the development of new income streams, contracts, and strategic partnerships; provides
recommendations, financial analysis, projections, and other data to inform the process.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (MBA preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in senior leadership roles in a complex environment
• Proficiency in strategic planning, including the ability to develop and implement comprehensive
plans and track progress toward the plan’s ultimate goals
• Proven record in project management
• Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; experience and skill in public speaking
and presentations
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Demonstrated ability to build trust, work collegially, and achieve influence across a wide range of
diverse stakeholders
• Experience either as an employee or board member of a nonprofit organization is preferred, but not
required; familiar with non-profit finance and accounting regulations
• Understanding of Lasallian educational philosophy and values preferred, but not required
• Unquestionable integrity and ethical standards in leadership
• Strong commitment to a diverse and inclusive working environment
• Familiarity with the field of education is preferred, but not required

Excellent digital literacy skills, including proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft
Teams. Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge preferred, but not required.
