Service Opportunities

Ongoing Service

At CBC, we maintain several ongoing service opportunities for our students. The name of the program/service site, dates available and contact information can be found below.

CBC Big Brother

We host our own version of a Big Brother program for eight Saturdays each semester. Students are encouraged to sign up for an entire semester as the most important part of this service is relationship-building, but we understand if you cannot make all and welcome you for whatever dates you are available. Please contact Mr. Andy Wood at wooda@cbchs.org or Mr. Jim Mueller at muellerj@cbchs.org for more information or to register.

St. Augustine Soup Kitchen

Dr. Goldkamp takes a group of students to St. Augustine soup kitchen on the last Thursday of every month to serve a warm meal to approximately 120 people, many of them children. If you are interested in joining, please meet outside the chapel immediately after school on the last Thursday of any month.  If you have questions, email Mrs. Goldkamp.

SLU Campus Kitchen

Mr. Charles Beach will accompany a group of students one Sunday of each month to assist in meal planning, preparation, and delivery to low income families and organizations. The service project is from 12:30pm-3:30pm on each of the days listed below. If you are interested in helping with this, please contact Mr. Charles Beach at beachc@cbchs.org:

September 11                                 January 8
October 2                                       February 5
November 13                                 March 5
December 4                                   April 2

TASK Sports

TASK Sports in Fenton is an organization we’ve worked with for many years. In fact, we host a camp here for them every summer. They have programming year round  and they are always in need of volunteers.

These programs run on a six week rotation on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Each evening’s activity runs from 5:00-7:30, and at the end of this six week session, a new one will start up. There are literally chances to help here all year!

If you’re interested in helping, click on this link and fill out the information. Then contact Mr. Paul Kraus at krausp@cbchs.org if you have any questions.

Additional Opportunities

While we value our ongoing partnerships with service agencies, we also advertise for volunteer opportunities that occur only one or a few times. Information is included below for these additional opportunities. If you have a project that is in need of a few volunteer hands, please forward all details to Mike Krussel at krusselm@cbchs.org. As long as the service project fits within the guidelines of our service program, we would be happy to advertise it for you:
