Junior Accountant (Open to Full-Time or Part-Time)
Description
Qualifications
• Prior accounting experience, with exposure to general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Problem solver with the ability to identify discrepancies and provide solutions
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively
Responsibilities
• Support financial closes, GL journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of school accounts
• Assist cash transactions, including recording deposits, disbursements, and bank reconciliations
• Support audits by providing documentation and assisting with audit inquiries
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the accounting leadership team
• Support reporting needs
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function
• Assist in creation of accounting policies
• Conduct mid-level general-ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct errors

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience with Accounting systems, preferably with FinancialEdge.
• Background working in educational institutions, a plus
