CBC soccer coach Terry Michler '65 added to his historic coaching resume recently when he was named the 2019 National Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coaches Association.
Michler, who recorded his 1,000th victory at CBC this past season, has now been recognized with national coach of the year awards eight times, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
He was named the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) coach of the year in 1985, the Studentsportssoccer.com coach of the year in 2004, the NFHS coach of the year in 2010 and 2018, the National High School Coaches Association coach of the year in 2015 and the All-USA Today and Top Drawer soccer coach of the year in 2018, according to the Post-Dispatch.
Michler has a career record of 1,004-294-117 with nine state championships in 49 seasons at CBC.
