Congratulations to Coach Justin Tatum '97 on accepting a coaching position with the Illawarra Hawks of Australia’s National Basketball League. Over his ten seasons at CBC, Coach Tatum’s teams compiled a record of 200 wins and 85 losses, including capturing 2 State Championships (2014 & 2022), 6 Metro Catholic Conference titles, and 7 District Championships. He transformed his players into champions and carried on the proud tradition of CBC Basketball. More importantly, student-athletes in the basketball program grew into Men for Tomorrow—young men who are Guided by Faith, Strengthened by Intellect, Committed to Justice, and Prepared to Lead and Serve. This new opportunity is well-deserved, and we are excited for Coach Tatum to be able to take the next step in his coaching journey.

"We are so thankful that Justin came back to his alma mater to make an impact on this generation of Cadets," said Scott Pingel, Director of Athletics. "He demanded a lot of his players on the court and in the classroom, and the young men in his program always formed a strong brotherhood as they worked together to accomplish their goals. We will miss him and wish him the very best in this new role."

The CBC Department of Athletics will lead the search to identify the next Head Coach to lead the young men in our storied basketball program and continue the winning tradition of CBC athletics.
