Thank you to all who came out to support Coach Terry Michler at a special fundraiser - TRIVIA with TERRY on Saturday, July 13. With a packed house and a tremendous turnout of over 59 tables, Ross Hall was humming and happy with excitement to celebrate our own Coach Terry Michler - Hall of Famer, and the winningest soccer coach in the nation.
The high energy and deep compassion from the CBC community in support of Coach Terry was electric and contagious – everything CBC stands for when you think about “Brothers for Life.” The evening was made special with a prayer by Terry's brother Father Jim Michler and Jackie Smith, Cardinal football legend who graced us with his rendition of The Star Spangled Banner!
A huge shout-out goes to the hardworking and dedicated committee - Friends of Terry Michler, who hosted the fundraiser and did all the behind-the-scenes work in just six to eight weeks. Hats off to Geoff Daniels, Bill Bourne, Diane Michler, Mary Michler, Tom Michler, and Patty Benner for leading the effort and the committee of twenty additional devoted soccer alumni who met weekly to ensure a successful event. Much appreciation for those who sold sponsorships, tickets and tables, as well as those who solicited and secured auction items.
Thank you to Mike Bartoni for managing the trivia and facilities set-up and tear-down – no small feat, and a round of applause to all the volunteers – committee, students, friends, family, and alumni who checked in the guests, sold tickets, gathered sponsors, managed the auctions, served drinks, set-up, cleaned-up, and more to make this event a night to remember!
Congratulations to all on a job well done for someone who means so much to all of us! Finally - thank you to all who took the time to attend, support, and enjoy a night of trivia and CBC camaraderie to cheer Terry Michler on to great health. Terry – we can’t wait to see you on the sidelines at the first soccer game on August 12!
