STEMathon! is a program designed to engage middle school students in STEM by having them solve a real-world problem through collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. This year, the challenge we posed was, “How can we ease anxiety for children who have to undergo surgery?”
This initiative has been made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Josh Seidel Memorial Foundation and the partnership of Enterprise Mobility and Mercy Hospital, whose support has been invaluable to our students and our mission.
Over the last few weeks, teams from multiple schools have been working diligently, guided by our high school mentors, who have done an exceptional job helping these middle schoolers develop innovative solutions. Each team submitted a video showcasing their ideas, and after initial judging, the top five teams have been selected to present in person this Saturday.
