Aaron Walker named CBC's MLK Model of Justice Award winner

Congratulations to senior Aaron Walker Jr. for being this year's CBC recipient of the prestigious Martin Luther King Jr. Model of Justice Award.

"Aaron’s journey mirrors Dr. King’s call to 'stand up for justice, even when the odds are against you.' His life experiences have shaped a profound personal philosophy — one rooted in helping others and giving voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. Whether organizing our Heritage Month celebrations, coordinating the Club Feast, representing CBC at the Lasallian Youth Assembly, or playing a key role in bringing A Soldier’s Play to CBC for only the second time in school history, Aaron has continuously built bridges that unite and uplift," Tom Eichwald '07 and Vic Northern '86 wrote in Walker's nomination letter.

"Dr. King once said, 'Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ Aaron has answered that question through action — mentoring his peers, encouraging dialogue, and standing tall as a servant leader. His ability to bring people together, to lead with integrity, and to model compassion and justice has set a lasting example for all who follow.

"As Aaron prepares to graduate, we celebrate his impact and the legacy he leaves behind. His shoes will be big ones to fill — but his influence will continue to inspire future leaders to dream, to serve, and to stand for what is right. We are proud to call him one of our own and to present him to you as this year’s honoree."

Walker was honored, along with students from other schools and parishes, as a 2026 Archdiocesan Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Model of Justice Honoree during the 50th Annual Archdiocesan Mass For The Preservation of Peace and Justice commemorating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Cathedral Basilica on Sunday.
