CBC sophomores earn Honorable Mention in C-Span StudentCam competition

Congratulations to Landon Meyer, Luca Orrico, and Logan Meyer on their Honorable Mention in this year’s nationwide C-SPAN StudentCam competition. Their documentary video, Healthy STL Citizens: How City Planning Affects Poor Nutrition in St. Louis, was completed as part of the Sophomore Humanities fall semester performance assessment.

During a year in which the competition continued to grow and the quality of each production was significantly elevated, C‑SPAN’s Education Department was thrilled to say that Landon, Luca, and Logan’s entry was among the best of the more than 1,800 documentaries received from nearly 4,000 students for the 2026 contest theme, America’s 250th Anniversary: Exploring the American Story through the Declaration of Independence.

Thank you to this collaborative group and to all CBC sophomores and Sophomore Humanities teachers, for their hard work on each of their projects and for the willingness to share their efforts with an authentic audience. Thank you also to faculty, staff, and students who provided feed-forward comments during early drafts and at the HAM Fest.
