Mike Seppi named CBC's Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Dear Friends of CBC,

It is with great excitement that we announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Seppi as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Christian Brothers College High School, effective for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. In this role, Mike will work with our leadership team to advance CBC's mission and ensure our operations support the academic, spiritual, and moral formation of the young men in our care.

Mike will succeed Mr. Joe Esser ’79, and we are deeply grateful to Joe for his dedicated leadership and service to CBC over the past two years. Joe will work with us in the interim to ensure a smooth and efficient transition for Mike and our team here at CBC.

Mike brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in education and nonprofit organizations, with particular expertise in strategic planning, financial stewardship, and organizational management. For the past 20 years, he has served as Director of Community Education for the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts, where he built one of the largest public school lifelong learning programs in North America. He oversees a multi-million-dollar operation serving more than 40,000 participants annually and leads a team of more than 300 staff members. His leadership spans financial strategy, operations, program development, and marketing and communications, while also contributing to broader system-wide planning and alignment. In 2026, he was recognized as a Top Community Educator in North America by the Learning Resources Network, the world’s largest lifelong learning association.

Earlier in his career, Mike served as the founding Executive Director of the Diversity Awareness Partnership, a St. Louis-based organization dedicated to promoting inclusion through community and school-based education and awareness initiatives.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.

He and his wife, Katie, a special education teacher, live in St. Louis County with their three children. Both Mike and Katie are products of Catholic education and have chosen the same path for their family.

What stood out most throughout this process was not only Mike’s professional experience, but his clear sense of mission and his commitment to Catholic education. He understands the importance of forming young men of faith, character, and intellect, and his values align strongly with our Lasallian mission. We are confident he will be an outstanding partner in leading CBC forward.

“I’m excited to join the CBC family as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and support the school’s commitment to the academic, spiritual, and moral development of every young man," Seppi said. "I look forward to working with Phil Riley, the leadership team, the Board of Directors, and the many talented educators to continue CBC’s tradition of excellence in Catholic education."

The future of CBC is bright. With strong leadership, a committed community, and a clear vision for where we are headed, we are well-positioned to continue forming young men who will lead with faith, integrity, and courage. I am excited for the work ahead and confident in what we will accomplish together.

Please join me in welcoming Mike to the CBC community.

Phil Riley
