It is with the heaviest of hearts that CBC shares the news that our beloved Liz Kosciolek has passed away unexpectedly, while recovering from surgery.

All in our community know Liz’s important role on our campus, serving as the primary point of contact for students and parents in the Office of the Dean of Students. But she means so much more than that to our CBC family.

More than 30 years ago, Liz first came to us as a CBC mom. Through her years in the Dean’s office she has given more than 5,000 Cadets the love, compassion and acceptance that only a mother can offer. She joined our community as a mother of two Cadets – Tony ’91 and Michael ’95 – but through the years she became a mom to us all.

Our love and prayers go out to the entire Kosciolek family, especially her dear husband, Rich, during this very difficult time.

This morning our student body, faculty and staff are grieving this great loss together on campus. We know that this sudden news impacts so many alumni and other members of our CBC family, as well. Our students will come together for an afternoon prayer service beginning at 2 p.m. and, if you would like to attend, alumni are welcome to join us in the DC Wilcutt Gymnasium. We will be sure to share information regarding formal services and arrangements as they come available, as well.

As you know, CBC is home to students from all parts of St. Louis. Liz believed in that mission fully, and she dedicated a huge piece of her life to make certain that every young man was loved and cared for while on our campus. We will forever miss her smiles, her hugs, her support, and her spirit.

Live, Jesus, in our hearts - Forever.
